The BF10 has been designed for boaters who want dependable performance in a compact engine and is perfectly suited for use with sailboats, inflatables and small aluminium boats. Offering very low fuel consumption and maintenance costs, while still delivering optimum performance and durability. At 222cc, it has the largest displacement in its class, and Honda's Power Thrust Propeller - a four-blade propeller design (optional) - creates significantly more thrust in both forward and reverse gears. If you want dependable performance in a portable package, then the BF10 is the engine for you. At just 42kg, the BF10 is one of the lightest four-stroke engines in its class. This allows convenient transport and easy mounting to any hull. Longer tiller handle and up-front tiller controls
The BF10 has a convenient longer tiller handle for increased control and reduced steering effort. The extended handle is made of a new lightweight composite for increased durability and weight reduction. The convenient Forward Mount Shift Lever allows fingertip shifting. Twist Grip Throttle and Tensioner allows for superior throttle friction control, minimising driver fatigue.
Reverse exhaust relief
Exhaust gases are diverted away from the propeller while in reverse, allowing the propeller to run in clean water.

The BF10 is equipped with Power Tilt and Gas Assist Tilt variations - perfect for effortless engine tilt operations and shallow-water running. Cruising is improved and more comfortable with Honda's unique pendulum-motion mounting system. This system is specially designed to reduce vibration and maximise user comfort. A double-sealed anodising treatment is applied to the aluminium alloy base, followed by the epoxy primer undercoat, acrylic aqua marine silver paint, and finally, the acrylic resin topcoat.
Easy one hand starting
Working together, a built-in decompression release and Digital CDI system set the ignition timing during start-up. Just 60% of the normal effort is required to pull-start the engine by hand! Electric-start models offer Auto Start Enrichment which automatically adjusts the air/fuel mixture for an even quicker, easy starting and warm-up operation. The PGM Ignition (where a reliable microprocessor accurately controls ignition timing during start-up and across the entire rpm range) provides optimum overall operation. There is also a Power Thrust Option Available too.

Not only does the BF2.3 pack enough punch to push a boat out to sea, it's light enough to be carried back to the car. Thanks to the ergonomic carry handle fitted to each engine, the BF2.3 can be taken virtually anywhere. Despite the engine's size, the BF2.3 boasts all the benefits of Honda's advanced four-stroke technology, its lightest 2.3hp four-stroke available - even lighter than most two-stroke outboards.
Low maintenance
Thanks to the transistor ignition, you’ll get maintenance-free, high-energy output for quick and easy starts with the BF2.3. The forced air-cooled engine also means there is no water pump to worry about being plugged with weeds or damaged by sand. The BF2.3's Shallow Water Drive also allows you to run in shallow water and greatly reduces the risk of engine damage.
Integral fuel tank
A 1L integral fuel tank facilitates easy removal and portability as one unit. The vent is able to be closed during transport or for extended storage periods. The engine can run for up to 55 minutes at full throttle on a tank of fuel.
Centrifugal clutch
The Honda BF2.3 comes standard with a centrifugal clutch. As a result, the engine is able to maintain a smooth idle and automatically engage the prop above idle speed when the throttle is advanced. It’s like having a neutral position. The engine is able to maintain a smooth idle and then upon advancing the throttle it automatically engages the propeller above idle speed.
360 rotation and optimum maneuverability
Get in and out of tight spots with ease, or go in any direction on the compass, with this extremely maneuverable engine. The reverse thrust allows you to get to where you want to go efficiently. A twist grip throttle also allows for precise throttle control, and the throttle tensioner minimises driver fatigue.
Easy transport and storage

Engine protection and security
Alert systems monitor critical engine functions including engine temperature, oil pressure, fuel injection and charging. This notifies the boat operator of any abnormal conditions. An audible buzzer and warning light will be activated if a fault is detected (BF40 – BF250), whereas on non PGM-FI outboards (remote control models), the alert system will monitor engine temperature and oil pressure. (BF10 – BF30)

The BF4, 5 and 6 start from a low 27kg - their lightweight nature and new carrying handle design enables you to easily transport and store away the engines. The tiller handle can be fully folded to make the unit even more compact making storage even more convenient

Sick of getting a numb or tingly arm while out on the water from the harsh vibrations resonating from your engine? Not with the BF4, 5 and 6, Honda have specifically developed new rubber engine mounts that are integrated into the outboard to absorb practically all vibrations across the rpm range; delivering superior comfort to the operator, meaning that you can travel longer and further in complete comfort.

Each engine has an integrated large capacity fuel tank built in, hidden away under the cowl this additional 1.5l of fuel gives the operator longer continuous running time; the longest running time available in their class with up to 43 minutes at wide open throttle. Equipped with a Honda's decompression mechanism, the BF4, 5 and 6 are a breeze to start at whatever temperature the engine may be.

One touch engine stop
Equipped with a one touch engine stop switch for convenience, making it safer in emergency situations and also making it much easier to turn off the engine when you reach your destination. To protect the outboard, an oil alert system automatically limits the engine speed to 2,300 rpm in case of an oil pressure drop.
